Reports: Grandmother accused of abandoning toddler at fireworks show arrested

A woman who is accused of abandoning her granddaughter in Denver has been arrested, KMGH reports.

The station says Brenda Littlespottedhorse, 55, was arrested at her home in Lakewood Wednesday morning. The report says Littlespottedhorse was arrested on a warrant out of South Dakota for a probation violation.

Denver Police found a toddler left in a stroller at Civic Center Park after a fireworks show Friday night. The girl’s mother wasn’t found until Saturday night, and she was out of state.

A neighbor told KMGH that the girl had been living with her grandmother for the past couple of months.

Denver Police issued a warrant for Littlespottedhorse’s arrest on Tuesday. She faces a misdemeanor charge of “wrongs to minors.” KMGH reports that police obtained a Denver-only warrant, which means Lakewood police cannot arrest her for Denver police.
