Police: Officer breaks arm chasing suspected burglars
The Pueblo Police Department says one of its officers was injured while chasing suspected burglars Wednesday morning.
Police were called to the 1100 block of N. Elizabeth st. to investigate a report of a group of people possibly putting on masks.
When officers arrived, they found a convenience store in the area was being burglarized.
The Police Department says officers chased the burglars out of the store. One officer suffered a broken arm during the foot chase. Police say the officer who was injured caught one of the fleeing suspects.
Police say a total of six people were taken in for questioning.
Two people have been arrested. Police say Willie Medina, 20, faces charges for burglary and Angeliqua Chavez, 28, faces a conspiracy charge. They say Chavez was the driver.
Police say a 15-year-old boy was taken to the Pueblo Youth Services Center. They say he had outstanding warrants and will face charges for the burglary as well.
Police say additional people will likely face charges and that officers are still looking for two juveniles in the investigation.
