Pot shops prepare for busy Fourth of July

The Fourth of July isn’t only popular to buy fireworks. Pot shops are also cashing in on the holiday.

Pueblo County pot shops made more than $2 million last July. That’s the most profitable month in 2014.

Marisol Therapeutics Compliance Manager Chris Jones said his shop is preparing for a busy Fourth of July.

“We have tons of product, we have employees that are going to be on hand throughout the entire day and we are going to be open for the entire day,” he said

Jones said more than 200 people showed up to the marijuana shop last Fourth of July.

Pueblo County made more than $30,000 from taxing recreational marijuana last July.
