Person of interest sought in death of woman near Steamboat

Deputies are seeking a 22-year-old man in connection with the death of a young woman in a small community near Steamboat Springs.

The Routt County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday that Cole J. Pollard is a person of interest in the investigation into the woman’s death. Her body was found tied up Monday evening in a home in the unincorporated town of Clark, about 20 miles north of Steamboat Springs.

The Steamboat Pilot & Today reports that Sheriff Garrett Wiggins says the death is a homicide and that few details are being released because the investigation is ongoing.

The woman was found by family members in a home owned by Amy and Russell West. Russell West says his 24-year-old son was engaged to the woman. He said she was 22 years old.
