Pueblo County making more money than last year from pot tax

Pueblo County is seeing green again.

Through May, the county has made more than $200,000 from taxing recreational marijuana. At this point last year, it made a little more than $150,000.

The 10 shops have more than $6 million so far.

There is a 3.5 percent county sales tax on recreational marijuana.

The city of Pueblo hasn’t legalized the sale of recreational marijuana. Pueblo City Council wants people to vote next November on whether they want recreational pot stores in the city limits.
