AWOL Fort Carson soldier returns to post

An AWOL Fort Carson soldier returned to the Mountain Post Monday morning.

Pvt. Daniel Domres was listed as AWOL on May 11. Fort Carson confirmed that Pvt. Domres reported back to post Monday morning.

Fort Carson said Pvt. Domres is safe and in military control. His absence is under investigation.

Last month, KRDO Newschannel 13 spoke with Pvt. Domres’ father, who is from the Chicago area. Tom Domres told us he believed his son likely dealt with a form of post-traumatic stress disorder after serving in Afghanistan and substance abuse.
