Rhys Millen Fastest up Pikes Peak

Rhys Millen took an electric car to an overall title at The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on Sunday.

The New Zealander sped to the fastest times throughout the week.

Mechanical issues among the front-runners and slick conditions led to slower times than expected. He still beat runner-up Nobuhiro Tajima, who was also driving an electric car, by more than 25 seconds.

A pall hung over the race after Thursday’s accident that killed motorcycle driver Carl Sorensen in a practice run.
