Local EMS service honors 15 fallen heroes

first responders, was held in the springs last night for possibly the last time. the 23rd e-m-s memorial service has been at the pikes peak center for several years now. organizers say they moved from the east coast because they like our area’s natural beauty, and how we honor our heroes. but the event moves back east next year. no one from colorado was among the 15 emergency medical personnel who died in the line of duty this year. “we’ve been averaging about 30 per year, and we’re starting to see a trend of those numbers going down. so we feel like people are being safer out there. we’ve been promoting a message of safety and we think that’s working.” about eight hundred e-m-s workers have been honored during the history of the event. the organization currently seeks a permanent home for the service. the republican party
