Special Olympics torch passes through Colorado Springs

the special olympics flame of hope is making its way across america. it passed through colorado springs today ahead of the 2015 world games in los angeles. new at noon… krdo newschannel 13’s zach pagano spoke with some of the athletes carrying the torch. it’s a chance for special olympic athletes to stand together s as one. the excitement of the games the excitement of running with part of history for our whole team. the unified relay across america is running through downtown colorado springs. and it’s getting the athletes excited for the world games. it’s amazing to see some of these guys blossom. today… they’re getting some encouragement from a four-time olympic athelete. we’re running north up on nevada, downtown here. i’m excited to be a part of op it~ it, and excited to share ~ the journey with those here in town in colorado springs. hunter kemper says he’s proud to run alongside these superstars. as an athlete, i know what they are going through. i know the dedication that it takes in order to train in an olympics and so do these athletes. they have to dedicate their lives in order to prepare and to do well b at the world games. as they reach the end of the relay… it’s heavy but we made it. huh, guys? the atheltes are ready to take on the next challenge. in colorado springs, zach pagano, krdo newschannel 13. the flame of hope will now head to denver, fort collins and boulder. it will pass through grand junction before leaving the state on tuesday. the 2015 world games in los angeles begin on july 25th. a man is under arrest..
