Fountain bank robbery suspect turns self in

A man suspected of robbing a Fountain bank earlier this month has turned himself in to authorities.

Police responded to a robbery at Chase Bank in the 7700 block of Fountain Mesa Road back on June 19. Later that day, police say a tip from the public led them to a suspect, identified as 22-year-old Chandler William Poffenbarger. He was questioned that day.

Days later, on June 25, Poffenbarger went to the police department and was taken into custody. He now faces a robbery charge.

Fountain police are thanking the public for help in this case.
