Two guardsmen hurt in separate training incidents at Fort Carson

Fort Carson says two Colorado National Guardsmen were injured in two separate incidents on post Wednesday morning.

The first incident involved a smoke grenade that exploded, causing burns and other injuries.

The second involved a person who suffered a possible spinal injury while riding in a Humvee that was driving over rough terrain.

Both people were flown to Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs.

Fort Carson says both people were with the First Battalion of the 157 Infantry.
