Lightning strike injures three construction workers in Colorado Springs

The Colorado Springs Fire Department says three construction workers were injured by a lightning strike Wednesday, one of them seriously.

A total of five workers were impacted by the strike, but two of them said they were fine and went home. The other three were taken to the hospital.

The strike happened at around 1:35 p.m. near the intersection of Woodmen Road and Tutt Blvd., which is east of St. Francis Medical Center.

The fire department says all of the affected workers were men in their 30s.

St. Francis says the patients who were brought there were treated and released.
