Convicted felon is caught with 7 weapons; faces multiple felony charges

A convicted felon is facing multiple felony charges after police went to his home Saturday afternoon, responding to a shots fired call.

Seven weapons were recovered, along with multiple rounds of ammunition and high capacity magazines. Three semi auto pistols, three high powered rifles and one shotgun were all found a the home on the 4200 Block of Halstead Circle. A small amount of suspected heroin was also recovered.

When officers arrived at the home Saturday afternoon, they were told the suspect had fled inside- leaving a two year old in a vehicle. The toddler was evacuated, as well as an elderly female. The suspect then exited the residence, followed by an adult female.

The case will be presented by ATF to the US Attorneys Office for Federal Prosecution.
