Three Fremont County roads closed for flood damage
The west side of Fremont County has taken the brunt of road damage from recent flash flooding.
Work crews have made several damaged roads passable for traffic but three remain closed.
County Road 45 is closed because of sediment deposits and its proximity to the banks of the high-running Arkansas River. The closure blocks direct access to a campground.
County Road 69 is considered too wet for traffic, county officials said, and must dry out before repairs can start.
Phantom Canyon Road, from U.S. 50 to the Teller County line, has been closed for the past month because of extensive damage. The county has applied for federal disaster funds to pay the cost, which could be as much as $800,000.
County roads 4 and 47, and Hamilton Creek road, sustained flood damage but are open to traffic.
