Local pastor offers prayers to shooting victims

bailey. the man suspected of killing nine people at an african-american church in south carolina has been arrested. 21-year-old dylann roof was taken into custody this morning in shelby, north carolina. police say he’s responsible for the deadly shooting at emanuel a-m-e church in charleston last night. new at noon…. krdo newschannel 13’s zach pagano is speaking with a local a-m-e pastor offering his support to the victims. a place of worship turns deadly. police say 21-year-old dylann roof shot nine parishioners at emanuel african methodist episcopal church. police arrested the suspect this morning. he was stopped because a citizen alerted law enforcement to a suspicious activity, and law enforcement went out and they knew that, once they arrived there, that it was the individual that we were looking for standup- ame churches across the country are offering a sign of support today, including the payne chapel in colorado springs. a sense of shock, certainly a sense of grief. reverend arthur b carter junior says he has no words to describe the shooting. to know that someone came among them, sat with them and then returned and opened fire. very tragic. carter says he wants people to feel safe at his church. this incident is tragic, but this incident will not destroy that church and it will not destroy god’s church, and it will not destroy our continued faith and hope for humankind across the global village. and he says he won’t stop praying for his brothers and sisters affected by the shooting. in colorado springs, zach pagano, krdo newschannel 13. the u-s justice department is investigating the shooting as a hate crime. well
