A woman to be featured on next $10 bill
The new $10 bill will feature a woman, Secretary of the Treasury Department Jacob Lew announced this week.
The bill will be unveiled in 2020, to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote.
“That is prominent, that is historical, that will be preserved forever, and to have a woman on that forefront, is a historical moment for all women,” said Kim Kiick, Executive Director of the American Numismatic Association.
During the next several months, the public will be able to offer suggestions on social media, using the hashtag #TheNew10.
