Roads close in Pueblo County because of flooding
Fears are rising along with the water levels along Fountain Creek and the Arkansas River in Pueblo County.
The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office says the following roads are closed because of flooding:
Red Creek Springs Rd. at the low crossing in Beulah.
North Creek Rd in Beulah closed to one lane and restricted to resident traffic only.
4500 – 5200 block of Overton Rd. The county park portion, commonly referred to as the “Hwy 227 fishing access” is closed due to river/flood conditions. This area includes the parking lot, trail, foot bridge, and river access.
The sheriff’s office says moderate flooding is expected in Avondale.
The Emergency Operations Center has been activated to monitor areas that are threatened by flooding. Areas of concern include the following:
Avondale could hit major flood levels between 7:00 and 8:00 pmtonight.
Nepesta Bridge may hit moderate flood levels by 12:00 pmtomorrow. The levy located behind the North side Walmart

4 th Street/Joplin Hudson/Catalpa, Plaza Verde Park
Voluntary evacuations were ordered for a handful of homeless camps along Fountain Creek.
