House fire possibly caused by lightning

A Colorado Springs home is significantly damaged after a possible lightning strike.

Fire crews battled a fire at a home in the 6000 block of La Plata Peak Drive late Monday night (6/15/15).

The fire was contained to the attic. It caused damage to the back side of the home.

Fire officials say two people and a dog were home when the fire started, but were able to get out safely. The Red Cross helped them find a place to stay overnight.
