UPDATE: Body found in Arkansas River in Chaffee County

Crews in Chaffee County found boy’s body in the Arkansas River Friday. But the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office said it has not confirmed it is the child who went missing while rafting earlier this week.

Around 1:30 Friday afternoon, crews pulled the body from the river near the Big Drop rapid area, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The Chaffee County coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy.

An 11-year-old boy from Golden went missing after falling out of a raft near Salida on Wednesday.
