Inmate breaks window at Pueblo jail

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office says an inmate broke a window on the fourth floor of the detention facility Tuesday evening.

The incident was reported by other inmates at around 5:50 p.m.

The sheriff’s office says Michael Martinez used a meal tray to break out the window. The tray and a blanket fell to the ground outside.

The sheriff’s office said the hole in the window was not large enough for Martinez to escape through.

Damage to the building is estimated at between $1,800 and $2,500.
