Aurora police investigate shooting involving parole officer

Aurora police are investigating after a parole officer with the Colorado Department of Corrections shot a man while checking on a parolee on Monday.

Police spokesman Chris Amsler says the man who was shot was not the person on parole. He says the unidentified man confronted two parole officers with a gun and one of the officers shot him.

The man was seriously injured. The officers were not hurt.

Amsler says no arrests have been made. He says the parolee was in the apartment at the time, but the parolee was not taken into custody.

No names have been released. Amsler says Aurora police are investigating and they will give their report to the Adams County district attorney.
