Wildlife officers warn: know what to do in Colorado bear country

When you head into the great outdoors this summer remember your are stepping into the home of Black Bears.

Black bears are not commonly aggressive however you should still exercise caution anytime you are in the wilderness.

Here are a few tips for staying safe in bear country.

-Keep a clean campsite and store anything with an odor in a bear-resistant container or suspended in a tree.

-The sent from citronella products can attract bears.

-Pack out all garbage.

-Clean fish well away from your campsite.

-Don’t leave food or beverages unattended.
