Friends remember bicycle crash victim
mourning the loss of a young man from colorado springs… killed in a bicycle accident in oregon. portland police say a truck struck and killed 22- year-old mark angeles . angeles is a 2011 pine creek high school graduate. he also just graduated from reed college in portland last week. tonight, krdo newschannel 13’s greg miller is live with reaction from those in colorado springs who knew him well. it’s a story you’ll only see here. james, heather, we found this small memorial of flowers at pine creek high school. even though mark angelez graduated from here four years ago … his friends and nieghbors … near and far … say there will be a big hole in their hearts. hundreds of miles from where he died… childhood friends and neighbors still mourn. whether watching mark angelez grow up… 1:10He was very joyful. or growing up with him. He was just a good kid. his love for bicycles was evident… running the bi cb at reed college. he was on his bike the night he died… struck by a tow truck driver in portland. friends near and far consider him a bright star… always willing to help. 1:41 He came over and did the rim around the tree, layed this too it’s almost gone. 0:41 Very bright, very intelligent, I’m sure he’s done extremely well. from flowers at his high school, to a graduation tassle at another memorial where he died… everyone seems to say the same thing: 0:33 He was very kind and very, very passionate about what he does, he was one of the nicest people i ever met. and his death still doesn’t seem real to those he knew well. 4:44 He honored his mother and father, and i think they really reflected in how he lived. He didn’t want to do anything that would dishonor them… and i don’t think he did. angeles just graduated from reed college last week, his family spent the week with him to help him move into a new apartment… not knowing it would be the last time they would see him. in the springs tonight, gm, nc 13. for the first time, we’re learning
