Free safety festival takes place Saturday

Pueblo emergency crews and nonprofits want you to be healthy and safe this summer and they are promoting it with a giant party at the park.

The third annual American Medical Response Safety Jam is happening Saturday at Pueblo City Park.

The free event gives emergency crews and nonprofits in Pueblo a chance to show people how to play it safe in the warmer months.

“We want people to enjoy southern Colorado and all the wonderful weather and activities that are offered here. If they learn to do it safely, they can do it for the rest of their life,” Chris McMahon said. He is one of the organizers of the event.

More than 40 exhibitors will be there.

Bikes, skateboards and helmets will be given out on a first come, first serve basis.

A concert will also be held starting at 2:30 p.m.

KRDO NewsChannel 13 Anchor James Jarman will be there to host the event.
