Pueblo West using marijuana money for roads
Pueblo West will use its share of the county’s retail pot money to improve roads.
The area received $200,000 from the county because of the number of retail marijuana stores it has.
Pueblo West will use the money to fill in potholes and cracks on some of the major roads.
Mary Morrison, who lives in Pueblo West, said the money should go to dirt roads.
“Well I think it is kind of a disgrace, as bad as (the dirt roads are) after all the rain. Instead of grading it all the time, they should put that money in for asphalt or put something down,” she said.
Pueblo West Metro Board President Jerry Martin said the reason why the money isn’t going toward the dirt roads is because the paved roads are used more by drivers.
