Graduating cadets march in last AFA parade

Hundreds of cadets in the United States Air Force Academy Class of 2015 marched in their last parade Wednesday.

The cadets marched across the Stillman Parade Field, signifying the change of command of the Cadet Wing to the Class of 2016.

“Watching my classmates emerge from the wing was just incredible,” said Cadet 1st Class Josiah Cline. “I just never thought it would happen.”

Sophia Vasiliadis, the Cadet Wing commander for the spring semester of 2015, told KRDO NewsChannel 13 she was happy her family could attend the event.

“I’m just happy I can share something that’s been such a big part of my life with the rest of them,” Vasiliadis said.

Cadets first class will be commissioned as second lieutenants at their graduation ceremony Thursday morning. The ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. in Falcon Stadium.

Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James will deliver the commencement address.

KRDO NewsChannel 13 will stream the event live on KRDO.com.
