Shoppers chase purse snatching supect out of Springs Trader Joe’s

Colorado Springs Police say fellow shoppers came to the rescue of a purse snatching victim Monday night (5/25/15).

The incident was reported at 5:12 p.m. in the 5300 block of N. Nevada Ave.

Police say Paul Teague grabbed a woman’s purse while she was shopping and ran out the door. They say several other shoppers began chasing Teague.

Colorado Springs Police say Teague threw the purse when he realized he was being chased. The purse and all of its contents were returned to the victim.

Police say Teague initially got away, but that he was arrested after a security guard spotted him behind a nearby Lowe’s.

Teague was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center. He faces a theft charge.
