The Stanley Hotel getting “The Shining” Treatment

An Evans construction company has been given the contract to build a maze based on the movie “The Shining” at the hotel that inspired the scary novel.

Jesse Alfaro says he made his entire staff watch the movie before he got the job.

According to the Greeley Tribune, the Stanley Hotel celebrates the 1980 movie with ghost tours, paranormal investigations and by playing the film constantly.

“The Shining” was inspired by a Stephen King novel. He conceived the idea for the book while staying at the Stanley Hotel. The film famously features a haunted hotel and an imposing outdoor maze, though nothing like the maze ever existed at the Stanley.
