Jay’s Weekend Weather Report:

Today:There will be some patchy fog around early in the morning, especially across the plains. The fog will mix out by mid-morning, with sunshine expected to warm high temperatures back into the 60s and 70s. Another round of potentially strong to severe storms will develop during the afternoon, so you’ll want to stay “weather aware” through the day! If you have outdoor plans during the afternoon, be sure to keep a rain coat and umbrella with you! The primary threats with the stronger storms will be large hail and gusty winds with an isolated tornado also possible — the most likely spot to see these will be across the far eastern plains. Severe or not, the storms will be spotty, so not everyone is going to get rain!

Tonight: Storms will linger through the first half of the night around southern Colorado, with the potential for a few strong to severe storms through the evening. Later on, patchy fog will again be possible as the moist air allows temperatures and dew points to get together. Lows will drop into the 30s and 40s.

Extended: Slightly cooler air will move in on Sunday. There will be some more moisture moving into the state, too, which will ramp up the potential for heavier rain Sunday afternoon. Highs will be in the 50s and 60s for most. Memorial Day will see similar temperatures, with spotty storms expected during the afternoon. If you are attending any outdoor events, be prepared with rain gear! The storms on Monday will be of the “hit-or-miss” variety, so not everyone is going to get rained on. Storms will stick around through much of the week, with chances dropping as the week goes on.
