North Carolina couple accused of killing infant appears in Colorado Springs courtroom
A fugitive couple from North Carolina who were arrested in El Paso County went before a judge Friday.
Vanessa Sanchez, 20, and Andrew Tomczak, 21, are accused of killing 18-month-old Violet Cortez.
Sanchez is fighting extradition to North Carolina. She will be back in court on June 11.
Tomczak waived extradition. He will make his next court appearance on May 26.
The pair was arrested after being tracked to a home in the 4000 block of Loomis Avenue in the Stratmoor Hills area.
