Springs man allegedly kidnaps girlfriend, drags her mother with car

Several officers responded to a disturbance call in the 1800 block of W. Colorado Ave. just before 2 a.m. Monday.

When officers arrived, they found an adult female who had been dragged by a vehicle and possibly run over by the same vehicle. Witnesses at the scene said the suspect had possibly kidnapped a 17-year-old girl.

Upon investigation, officials found the suspect had been in an altercation with his 17-year-old girlfriend.

The girl’s mother became involved during the argument.

The suspect then drove off with the girlfriend as her mother was partially in the car.

Officials say, the mother was dragged about 10 feet before she fell out of the car. The suspect left the area refusing to let the 17-year-old girlfriend go.

The girlfriend was later able to escape and call police.

The suspect and suspect vehicle were located a short time later. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The 17-year-old girl and her mother were taken to a hospital for their injuries. Both have been treated and released.

The suspect is identified as 18-year-old Dustin Arnold. He was charged with Criminal Attempt 2nd Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Kidnapping, 3rd Degree Assault, and other domestic violence charges.
