Pueblo woman in good spirits after being robbed

An 84-year-old woman in Pueblo said two men forced their way into her home and robbed her.

It all happened on the 100 block of Full Moon Court, that’s near Highway 50 and Bonforte.

Pueblo police said the two men stole nearly $200 and jewelry.

Betty Hatton is the victim of the crime. She said the men knocked on her door and she opened the garage to ask what they wanted. Hatton said the men were posing as people from a gas company. She said she didn’t believe them and that’s when they forced their way into her home. Hatton said one man pushed her to the ground and pinned her down, while the other started stealing.

When they left, police said they found Hatton kneeling on the ground inside the kitchen while she was trying to get up.

Hatton said it was a scary situation, but she’s looking at the bright side.

“Life is too good. You don’t want to be scared all your life, and I refuse to do that,” she said.
