Drivers worry about highway potholes

but the potholes on i-25 are now getting dangerous for even large vehicles. krdo newschannel 13’s zach pagano is live near i-25 and bijou. zach, swerving to miss the potholes isn’t always an option. not really. while some of us can weave around pothole … imagine driving a big rig … like an rv or a tractor-trailer. if you’re trying to avoid potholes… i-25 might not be the smoothest ride. north and southbound lanes are showing signs of damage and it’s becoming a problem for larger vehicles. you just do what you can and try to miss it the best you can. john krug knows a thing or two about highway travel… he’s on a road trip from massachusetts. we’ve been traveling all winter in our rv out to California and back. we’ve gone so far about 12,000 miles. krug says he’s seen a lot of poor road conditions but southern colorado doesn’t make the list. generally so far i would say Colorado, you guys are doing a pretty good job. i think Pennsylvania was probably the worst. not everyone agrees.. especially those who drive larger vehicles. when they blowout, it’s like a small explosion throwing the pieces off the side of the truck. it could take out several tires on the vehicle and on the trailer if you hit a bad one. drivers say slowing down helps. take your time, always. Take your time when driving. Do not get in a rush. Rush is what kills people. but krug says in his cross- country experience … some of it is luck. you just avoid them, kind of cross your fingers and pray as you go over it. c-dot tells us they will fix potholes on a case-by-case basis. crews repair i-25 potholes at night when there are fewer cars on the road. but… c-dot says construction projects are taking top priority… including the cimarron interchange project set to begin next week. live in colorado springs, zach pagano, krdo newschannel 13. you can report potholes on
