Colorado Springs closer to electing a new mayor

Nearly 40 percent of voters had submitted their ballots in the Colorado Springs 2015 mayoral runoff election, as of Monday night.

John Suthers and Mary Lou Makepeace seek the mayor’s seat.

Both candidates say improving infrastructure, brining new jobs to the city and improving the relationship with city council are among their top priorities.

Most voters KRDO NEWSCHANNEL 13 spoke with said their biggest concern is infrastructure, specifically potholes.

“The potholes are just terrible,” Gregory Secrist said. “I think that should be one of the number one priorities.”

Ballots must be submitted by 7 p.m. Tuesday.
