Potholes continue to cause problems in El Paso County

Another large pothole is causing problems for drivers in El Paso County.

Neighbors said a pothole at the intersection of Lake Avenue and Rand Avenue got worse over the weekend.

“It’s really a mess down here,” said Sonny Clark, a neighbor who spotted the damage while riding his bicycle. “This is probably one of the worst potholes in Colorado Springs.”

Drivers said this is becoming a familiar sight on many roads.

“It’s really damaging a lot of cars around here,” driver Danny Jackson said. “You have to slow down, have to swerve or have to be on the lookout at all times on most of these streets.”

Neighbors said they are worried about severe weather causing even more damage.

“I hope they get some of it fixed, but if the weather doesn’t change, it’s not going to do any good,” Clark said.

Meanwhile, crews are fixing a sinkhole in Manitou Springs. The sinkhole developed on Ruxton Avenue near the Pikes Peak Cog Railway.
