Valor Run honors fallen officers

colorado springs paid tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. today they took part in the “valor run” at memorial park to honor law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty. krdo newschannel 13’s zach pagano is finding out how local officers are making a difference both in and out of uniform. “they really do put their life on the line” it’s a run to recognize those who protect our community. it’s a positive thing and we need more positive things, especially to let our officers know they are supported. the valor run honors fallen officers in the pikes peak region. the amount of effort and the amount of commitment that the police officers of our community give to us is enormous support isn’t just coming from the community… it’s something that we try to strive for, even just a little bit of support. detective scott mackey is one of many law enforcement officers taking part in the race. this is a fallen officer flag that I’m going to be running with the thin blue line represents the difference between good and evil. some people are taking it step by step… but they’re also making a difference. it’s something bigger than what we are, and that’s a pretty important thing. detective sheyna marshall is running with the ainsley’s angels program… which promotes inclusion for children with special needs. we’re their legs, basically.
