Have storm damage? PCSO wants to hear from you
The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office is collecting information about the damage caused by last weekend’s storm.
The office’s Emergency Services Bureau is compiling a list and looking for feedback from people who were affected.
The sheriff’s office says it needs the information for historic purposes and to potentially request a state disaster declaration.
“We spend a lot of time planning and practicing for disaster, just two days before this storm hit, we held our full-scale disaster exercise,” said Bureau Chief Mark Mears. “We know we are prepared to respond, but having the community involved in both the reporting and the preparedness efforts makes as big a difference in life and property protection as our response,” Mears said.
If your property was damaged in the storm, especially by flooding or hail, you are asked to call Karen Ashcraft, Emergency Management Coordinator, at 719-583-6202. You can also email her at ashcraft@co.pueblo.co.us .
