Design, photos of new Olympic museum unveiled
The organizers of the United States Olympic Museum unveiled preliminary photos and designs of the museum Thursday.
The museum is part of the City for Champions project. Funding for it is coming from a state grant for the overall project and from private donors.
The museum will be located off West Vermijo Street and Sierra Madre Street. It will include the museum, with interactive features and athletes’ stories, a restaurant and an outdoor plaza.
Museum officials also finalized a land gift agreement of 1.7 acres with Nor’wood Development Group.
The museum is scheduled for groundbreaking in spring 2016 and opening before the Olympic Winter Games in 2018.
