Construction a hassle for Pueblo drivers

Construction on a major road in Pueblo is causing headaches for people who live and drive there.

The construction is happening along Prairie Avenue between Amherst and Lucas.

Heavy machinery and cone zones are on the major road.

The city said it is adding manholes to gain access to the sanitary sewer main, along with constructing a new storm sewer.

Crews said there have been delays on the project because of weather conditions.

Alicia Torrez, who is a homeowner in the area, said the work has been a hassle.

“It’s tough with the noise at night and early in the morning. And we are just not able to go out on the street, you have to go around,” she said.

The city hopes to be done with the construction by late November.
