Wildlife causes power outage for San Isabel Electric customers

San Isabel Electric says it experienced a large outage Friday night.

The outage affected thousands in Walsenburg, La Veta and Gardner.

San Isabel says wildlife got inside a substation in Walsenburg, which caused the outage.

Work to repair the damage and restore service was underway late Friday evening.

San Isabel said it hoped to have service restored by 11:30 p.m.
