High school placed on lockout after gun shots heard nearby

Falcon School District 49 says operations have returned to normal following a precautionary lockout at Vista Ridge High School Tuesday morning.

The lockout began at 9:09 a.m. and was lifted at 9:23 p.m.

D-49 says facilities workers on the Vista Ridge football field heard what sounded like seven gun shots in the neighborhood, which prompted the lockout.

The lockout was lifted after police determined that there was no danger to the school.

According to D-49, a lockout means that no one may enter or exit the building. All students are safely inside the school and the learning schedule continues uninterrupted inside the school.
