Fountain police link man to crimes at two businesses
Fountain Police say they’ve linked a man to two different crimes in the city.
Police were called to the Pizza Hut in the 6800 block of Mesa Ridge Parkway at 10:15 p.m. Sunday to investigate a reported robbery.
Store employees told officers that a man pointed a gun at them and demanded money. They said they fought back and that they were able to get the robber’s gun after he dropped it.
The employees also gave officers a description of the robber. Police say they stopped a man matching that description at the intersection of Mesa Ridge Parkway and Mesa Road.
Police identified Raymond Randall, 51, as their suspect. Police say they searched Randall’s truck and home and found evidence that linked him to another robbery that happened earlier Sunday at the Subway restaurant in the 6800 block of Mesa Ridge Parkway.
Randall is facing numerous charges, including aggravated robbery, aggravated attempted robbery and second degree kidnapping.
Randall was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center and is being held on $50,000 bond.
