UNC Condemns Racists Attacks
University of Northern Colorado President Kay Norton has sent a campus-wide email condemning racist attacks on Mexican-American studies protesters.
The attacks are said to have happened April 10, the same day UNC students and administrators took part in a public forum regarding the suspension of the Mexican-American studies program.
The Greeley Tribune reportsUNC students critical of the university’s decision to suspend the Mexican- American studies program had objects thrown at them and were subjected to racist and demeaning diatribes.
School officials say the college major was suspended because of low enrollment.
