City of Pueblo unveils a new sign honoring a Medal of Honor recipient

A Medal of Honor recipient received another honor today in Pueblo.

The City of Pueblo unveiled a sign that shows the legacy of Drew Dix at his park in Pueblo.

Dix received the medal for his actions during the Vietnam War.

Loretta Velasquez, who lives near Drew Dix Park, said the sign will be helpful for kids who don’t know who the military hero is.

“In school they teach you history. Right here in our own backyard, we’ve got history. We can bring out kids and actually show them what this parks means,” she said.

There are also entrance signs for the park. The project cost $100,000 which was raised by veterans.
