One dead in Pueblo auto-pedestrian crash

Police are investigating a deadly auto-pedestrian crash in Pueblo.

It happened around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning at the intersection of 8th and Monument.

Police say Darla Rodriguez, 31, was driving an SUV and hit 2 people who were walking on a sidewalk near that intersection.

Police say, Rodriguez drove off the road, took out a street sign, and hit at least one other vehicle in the process.

A 35-year-old woman died. The other pedestrian, a man, is in critical condition.

Rodriguez was arrested and faces charges for vehicular assault, vehicular homicide, driving under influence of drugs, and reckless driving.
