Volunteers tackle trash Saturday

Spring cleaning was in full swing Saturday throughout El Paso County as hundreds of volunteers picked up litter in seven different locations.

It’s the third year the county sponsored its “Tackle the Trash” event.

Volunteers cleaned parks, trails and other recreational areas in Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Falcon, Monument, Fountain and Calhan.

The county provided trash bags and safety vents to participants.

County commissioners also took part in the event.
