Motorcycle crash closes part of Academy Boulevard in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs police are investigating a motorcycle accident Thursday night.

It happened around 10 p.m. Thursday on North Academy Boulevard near Rebecca Lane, next to Palmer Park.

The motorcyclist suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The motorcyclist was heading south on Academy at a high rate of speed, police said. An SUV tried to turn onto northbound Academy and hit the motorcycle.

Lanes on southbound Academy Boulevard were closed as police investigated the accident.
