Group has a prom for people with special needs

It was prom night for a special group of people in Pueblo Thursday.

The Pueblo Diversified Industries had a masquerade prom night for the people it helps.

The group said it had the event because most of the people it helps never went to prom.

For Janet Gutierrez, this was her first prom.

“I just love the entertainment. I love being around my friends. It’s just an experience I will never forget,” she said.

Pueblo Diversified Industries helps people with special needs find jobs in southern Colorado.
