Colo. Supreme Court to hear arguments over Christo project

The Colorado Supreme Court will decide whether to hear arguments in a case that seeks to put a stop to the artist Christo’s plan to drape parts of the Arkansas River with translucent fabric.

The Denver Post reports the group Rags Over Denver says Colorado State Parks broke its own rules in 2011 when it rushed the project through approval a week before it merged with the Colorado Wildlife Commission, an agency that opposes the project.

An appellate court called the mix-up a “harmless error,” and found in favor of the parks department’s decision.

Over the River by the famed artist would install fabric above almost 6 miles of river between Salida and Caon City.
