I-70 reopens near Floyd Hill after emergency rock fall work

A three-mile stretch of Interstate 70 east of Idaho Springs has reopened after nearly six hours of emergency rock fall work.

The highway reopened at about 3:45 p.m. Thursday. It was closed at 10 a.m. in both directions between Beaver Brook and Hidden Valley so crews could bring down rock in danger of falling.

State personnel also performed rock scaling along U.S. 6 at Loveland Pass on Thursday.
